Nature highlights

The Pyrénées has both world heritage and Natura 2000 sites as well as nature reserves.

Look out for the isards, the marmottes, the orchids, the lillies, the vultures, the eagles, the snakes, the butterflies, the stoats, the bears, the gentianes, the carniverous flowers, the fire salamander and the pyreneen desmond.

Summer 2010

This summer we will mostly be out enjoying nature.

A lot of our time is spent on the GR10, or the Haute Route looking for magical encounters with nature. Whilst getting to the top is part of the day the most rewarding experiences are seeing the different kinds of wildlife out there. Taking your time.

There are short-toed eagles , booted eagles, golden eagles, lammergeiers, griffon and egyptian vultures to name just a few.

Follow nature's trail

The wealth of flora in the pyrénées is stunning, especially if you are used to the British hillsides which have mostly been eaten by the sheep !

June is one of the best months for seeing this richness but there is something new to see whenever you go out.
